International Association and Register of Integrative Colon Therapists and Trainers (RICTAT) Board of Governance
Members of the Board of Governance of RICTAT serve in a voluntary capacity with no remuneration and give RICTAT their time, expertise and goodwill. They provide effective guidance and supervision of the management the activities of the organisation. Board members bring independent judgement to bear on issues of strategy, performance, resources and standard of conduct and act in the interest of the whole organisation.

Prior to becoming a colon hydrotherapist and colon hydrotherapy trainer, Ian was the curriculum manager for care health and childhood studies at a large college of further education.
Ian is a Justice of the Peace, a BA(Hons) in teaching and education studies, Cert Ed, a degree in social work as well as a certificate in Criminology.
Together with his wife Lynne, also an educator and a nurse, Ian owns Wellsprings Holistic Clinic, Practitioner Supplies as well as Cleansingherbs.com.
Ian has also been a prime instigator in trying to get all the colonic associations within the UK to work together. This will enable colon hydrotherapists to raise standards, as well as encourage therapists to be recognised by both the Department of Health and the general public as specialised and valued contributor to health and wellbeing.
In addition to having a busy career and enjoying his grandchildren, Ian is also very much involved with charity work being a District Governor for Rotary International in 2005-06.

After receiving her MA in Education in 1981 from Moscow Maurice Thorez University where she specialised in advanced learning technologies, Galina went on to become an educational reviewer, journalist, interpreter and teacher. She continued writing practical learning guides, as well as teaching CPD courses for teachers and lecturing.
After moving to the UK in 1989, Galina worked for the BBC World Service and later spent some time in the City’s financial and banking sector.
In mid-90s Galina took a sabbatical to do an intensive diploma course in Sports Therapy and Health and Fitness Studies. After qualifying, Galina very quickly acquired a varied and challenging client base, consisting of performing artists, City financiers and her former journalist colleagues.
She then went on to establish her clinic, Wellbeing Now in Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK in 2002, The practice went on to to gain an astounding 4,500 customers in its first four years, and now has a team of outstanding therapists.
Galina founded RICTAT in 2010 and since then the association has grown to over a hundred members from all over the world. After a successful two years with RICTAT, Galina made the desicion to pursue her other interests and has handed over the reins to the very capable Ian McDougall as Chairman of RICTAT.
| Lynne McDougall
|Coming form a nursing and educational background, Lynne trained initially in 1999. She has since, along with Ian McDougall, she established Wellsprings clinic and training schoolin Darwen, Lancashire.
Lynne’s passion is in promoting the importance of digestive health as a vital component in optimum health, whilst also incorporating Naturopathic principals.
Her commitment to RICTAT is to work alongside other Colon hydrotherapy organisations in promoting standards and establishing a united voice to meet the challenges facing a colon hydrotherapist.
|Kelly Hopley, Lay Member
Kelly Hoply is the head trainer of East Midlands Colonic Training and has been working within the health and fitness industry for fourteen years.
She is also a fully qualified Colon Hydrotherapist and Nutritionist, consulting in her clinic and writing presently for Natural Health Magazine. Kelly has a passion for health and has a unique rapport with her students enabling them to learn and succeed.
|Kay Bodanza, Lay Member
Kay is originally from South Africa with over 16 years experience in the health, wellness and fitness industry. As a qualified nutritionist and naturopathic wellness expert, Kay trained at the world renowned Chi Centre for Practical Detoxification in the UK as a colon hydrotherapist.
She brings with her a wealth of information concerning the anatomy and physiology of the digestive system and large intestine; common disorders, dysfunctions and diseases affecting bowel movements and digestive processes in addition to healthy wellbeing and lifestyle recommendations.
Kay is very adept at working with both the emotional and physical factors relating to digestive and general wellness in addition to having strong referral systems with other medical specialists, complimentary practitioners and nutritionists. She takes pride in combining and teaching various techniques such as breathing and self massage in order to help her clients reach their goal of optimum health.
Kay also contributes or has been featured in various Middle East fashion and health publications such as Aquarius Magazine, Grazia Middle East, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Gulf News, VIVA Magazine, OK! Middle East, New You Magazine, YogaLife Magazine and Emirates Women.
Kay regularly speaks at wellness events and conferences both locally and internationally and is proactive in arranging triannual networking mornings based on case study discussions and knowledge sharing for both conventional and alternative doctors, practitioners and therapists based in Dubai.
Kay is a Member of the Board of Governance and Middle East Representative for The International Register of Integrative Colon Therapists and Trainers (RICTAT) and Mentor for new colon hydrotherapy students.
Kay is a licensed therapist with a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Medical License as a Certified Colon Hydrotherapist under Allied Health Care.
|Shoela Detsios, Lay Member for Education(UK)
Shoela has been promoting natural medicine for over two decades. Her extensive and integrated clinical experience has led her to be regarded as an expert in the naturopathic community.
Her initial interest in human health led her to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree. Desiring a rewarding career in the complementary healthcare, Shoela began her journey within the field of Naturopathy obtaining qualifications in: Advanced Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine, Homoeopathy and Massage Therapy.
In addition to helping people achieve their health goals, educating and training future practitioners is part of her profile. She lectures for a number of educational providers in the area of Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy, at undergraduate and Post graduate levels.
